Stage 1 – Research and Planning:

Timeline: Sep 29, 2024 – Oct 27, 2024 (4 weeks) • Conducted background research on Web3 technologies and blockchain-based donation models. • Performed a SWOT analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. • Defined project goals and evaluated the feasibility of a decentralized donation platform.

Stage 2 – System Architecture and Design:

Timeline: Oct 28, 2024 – Nov 24, 2024 (4 weeks) • Selected Ethereum Layer 2 (Base Sepolia) for low fees and fast transactions. • Chose React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS for frontend development. • Used Remix IDE and Thirdweb SDK for smart contract development and Web3 integration. • Addressed user onboarding challenges with Web2 login support (e.g., Google, Apple ID).

Stage 3 – Security Implementation:

Timeline: Nov 25, 2024 – Dec 25,2024 (4 weeks) • Multi-signature wallets to enhance fund security, prevent Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT). • Implemented Pocket Universe extension to detect scam transactions • Used Revoke.cash for managing and revoking Dapp authorizations, with real-time risk alerts.

Stage 4 – Development and Testing:

Timeline: Dec 26, 2025 – Jan 10, 2025 (2.5 weeks)

• Performed unit testing on smart contract functions and validated blockchain interactions. • Evaluated hosting solutions (AWS, Cloudflare, Vercel) • Confirmed stability of smart contracts and integration with security protocols.

Stage 5 – Evaluation and Improvement:

Timeline: Jan 11, 2025 – April 1, 2025 (11.5 weeks) • Enhanced UI clarity and added technical features such as: Staking functionality with trackable transactions (stake, withdraw, reward claim)

• NFT claim tracking with associated metadata , Donation event monitoring and activity metrics

Final Goal

To create Donty, a secure, transparent, and decentralized application that empowers charities and donors while building trust, reducing transaction costs, and expanding global accessibility.
